The Bald Cypress Cascade Falls, Taxodium distichum 'Cascade Falls', (PP12296), is an exciting, very-weeping bald cypress. The weeping form of this Bald Cypress is very attractive and eye catching as it displays it's bright green foliage. Cascade Falls is tolerant of a wide range of soil and moisture conditions. All members of the bald cypress family are deciduous conifers. The new foliage is light green and will turn orange brown in the fall. With the cinnamon color, exfoliating bark, and unusual weeping form, it has great winter interest. Pruners can be used to control the length of the branches and whether the tips touch the ground or are allowed to cover the ground. Stake it to a certain height and then let it cascade down. If you don?t stake it up, this plant would be like a ground cover. In a landscape application you could let it flow over a rock wall like a green waterfall. Use this plant as a specimen or in a near water location. It also grows well in standing water and compacted soils.

The Lavender Twist Weeping Redbud, 'Cercis canadensis "Covey", also known as Twisted Lavender Redbud, is a new variety of Redbud that is sure to attract the eye. The reddish-purple bud opens to a rosy lavender-pink flower in early spring. The umbrella shaped tree accentuates the weeping, twisted branches tipping towards the ground. They flower in early spring and bloom for 2 to 3 weeks. The shape of the fruit looks like a pea pod. The pods are 2-3? and are brown. The seed pods develop in October and usually stay on throughout the winter and adding winter interest. Leaves are heart shaped, when emerging in the spring are reddish-purple changing to a dark lustrous green in the summer and then to a yellow fall color. This tree is a great specimen plant and perfect for a small protected area in the landscape.

The New Bradford Pear, 'Pyrus calleryana "Holmford", is a broad, oval tree with good branch angles. The branching is the major improvement over the Bradford pear. Stronger branches stand up better to ice and wind. The New Bradford is covered with white flowers in spring, glossy green foliage for summer, then turning yellow to maroon for autumn. It is an extremely popular, vigorous growing, medium size, shade tree with outstanding clusters of white blooms in spring and very attractive terrific yellow to red to purple foliage color in fall. The New Bradford pear is a beautiful garden addition that produces no edible fruit. This flowering tree grows best in full sun. This is a great tree for lawns or for a street tree and it is very disease resistant.

The Cleveland Select flowering pear tree, Pyrus calleryana, 'Cleveland Select', has more blooms than any other flowering pear tree. There?s nothing more beautiful in spring than a flowering pear tree covered in snowy white blooms. Cleveland Select pear trees display evenly branched limbs with pyramidal form. This deciduous tree is a vigorous growing medium sized tree with masses of white flowers in spring. This is an excellent street tree with beautiful purplish-red fall color. It has an attractive upright oval form and glossy green leaves. The Cleveland Select Pear reaches a height of 30 feet and width of 15 feet. This pear has a superior branch structure that withstands ice and wind damage better than the Bradford Pear. It is fruitless and has few pest problems. It tolerates urban conditions, and heavy clay soils.

The Oklahoma Redbud tree, Cercis reniformis, 'Oklahoma', has glossy green foliage. This redbud tree was discovered growing wild in the Arbuckle Mountains of Oklahoma in 1964. The Okahoma redbud is a small, deciduous understory tree which typically grows to 12-18' tall. This tree has clusters of tiny, wine-red, pea-like flowers that bloom profusely on the branches and mature trunks for 2-3 weeks in early spring (March-April) before the foliage emerges. The Oklahoma redbud's heart-shaped leaves open soft pink but gradually mature to a glossy rich green. Pendulous, flat, bean-like, 2-4" long seed pods resembling snow peas appear after flowering. Oklahoma redbud trees have fall color that is variable, but often includes attractive shades of reddish-purple and orange. Redbuds are true harbingers of spring. It is easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Part shade is best in hot climates. Not reliably winter hardy throughout USDA Zone 5 where it should be planted in a protected location. Excellent small tree for lawns, woodland gardens or naturalized areas. Effective planted as a specimen or in groups. Street tree in residential areas.

The Aristocrat Flowering Pear tree, Pyrus 'Aristocrat', is a beautiful tree that is attractive in all four seasons. It produces masses of white flowers in early spring, followed by bright, glossy green, disease resistant foliage. Leaves turn a deep to reddish-purple in mid to late fall to provide spectacular fall color. The clean winter outline is upright to pyramidal when young and becomes broadly oval at maturity. Aristocrat Flowering Pear trees have a more dominant trunk and open form that helps this deciduous, flowering species, to be less susceptible to wind damage. Home owners and landscapers place this tree in prominent locations because of the year around beauty it provides.

The Bradford Flowernig Pear, Pyrus calleryana, 'Bradford', is an extremely popular, vigorous growing, medium size, shade tree with outstanding clusters of white blooms in spring and very attractive terrific yellow to red to purple foliage color in fall. The Bradford pear is a beautiful garden addition that produces no edible fruit. This flowering tree grows best in full sun. A great benefit of the Bradford is that it is a rapid grower, achieving a 12 to 15 feet increase in height over an 8- to 10-year period. Bradford Pear trees are shallow-rooted and will tolerate most soil types. They are pest- and pollution-resistant, and tolerate drought well. It is one of the most fireblight-resistant cultivar of the flowering pears.

The Callery Pear tree, Pyrus calleryana, 'callery X Aristocrat cultivar', is a tight, narrow, pyramidal, thornless, ornamental pear tree. Some specimens appear almost columnar in habit. Oval, glossy green leaves turn an attractive reddish purple in autumn. The growth habit is dense, narrowly pyramidal, and evenly branched with crisp glossy green foliage. New growth shows a reddish tint. It has a heavy abundance of single white flowers in the spring and outstanding reddish-orange to purple fall color. This deciduous tree is a true 4-season tree with white flowers in early spring; shiny, dark green foliage in summer changes to long lasting, dramatic shades of red & purple in mid to late autumn. In winter the tight, narrow form is a refined silhouette in the landscape. Callery Pear trees are very hardy and fast growing. They are an excellent choice for a trouble-free, beautiful addition in any landscape situation.

The Cimmaron Ash tree, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, 'Cimmzam', is a fast growing ash tree that has beautiful glossy purple-colored leaves for showy foliage color. This deciduous trees is seedless with strong, upright branches that are resistant to storm and snow damage. The Cimmaron can grow 3 ft. or more per year in rich loose soil. Cimmaron Ash trees have a good salt tolerance, but it does not like poor compacted soils. The tree is narrow when young with upright branches. The glossy dark-green foliage turns brick-red to orange-red in the fall. It is a beautiful shade tree for homeowners and landscapers.

The Eastern Whitebud tree, Cercis canadensis alba, is best known for their profuse white pea-like flowers. The heart-shaped leaves of this redbud tree are 3-5" across and its fruit are brown flat pods about 2-3" long. The trunk of this small tree usually branches close to the ground resulting in a spreading flat-topped to rounded crown. Eastern Whitebud trees grow best in full sun to light shade with moist well-drained deep soil. This small deciduous tree is adaptable to other soil types but will not grow well in permanently wet or poorly drained soil. It is used as an ornamental or patio tree.

The Forest Pansy Redbud tree, Cercis canadensis, 'Forest Pansy', is an excellent small tree for lawns, woodland gardens or naturalized areas. Effective if planted as a specimen or in groups. It is frequently planted as a street tree in residential areas. 'Forest Pansy' Redbud trees are a purple-leaved cultivar of the popular Missouri native redbud tree. It is a small, deciduous, understory tree with a spreading, flat-to-rounded crown. It can eventually grow to 20-30' tall and the trunk usually divides somewhat close to the ground. Clusters of tiny, rose-purple, pea-like flowers bloom profusely on the branches and mature trunks for 2-3 weeks in early spring (March-April) before the foliage emerges. Flowers tend to be darker and more purplish than other species. Heart-shaped leaves open bright reddish-purple and gradually mature to a more muted purple. Seed pods resembling snow peas appear in late spring after flowering. Fall color is variable, but often includes attractive shades of reddish-purple and orange. Redbuds are true harbingers of spring. Easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Partial shade is best in hot climates.

The Autumn Gold Ginkgo, 'Ginkgo biloba "Autumn Gold", is a male cultivar (which are "fruitless"). 'Autumn Gold' is an all-male cultivar typically growing at maturity to 40-50' with a symmetrical, broadly spreading habit. The Gingko tree, Ginkgo biloba, is the sole surviving species of a group of Gymnosperms that flourished 65 million years ago, the time when dinosaurs existed. Gingko trees are also called Maidenhair trees. This tree can have a lifespan as long as 1,000 years. It is the only living gymnosperm (which includes pines, firs, and spruces) that sheds its leaves during the fall. Ginkgo are not native to North America, rather they are indigenous to China, Japan, and Korea, where they may still exist in remote mountainous parts. Today the tree is often planted in cities because of its remarkable resistance to urban smog and to insect pests. The Autumn gold is grown in average, medium wet soil in full sun. They prefer moist, sandy, well-drained soils. It is tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions, including both alkaline and acidic soils and compacted soils. Also tolerant of saline conditions, air pollution and heat. Adapts well to most urban environments. No smelly fruits with this Gingko cultivar.
